Mission accomplished
Just minutes after official “christening” as Anacortes High School graduates, Anna and Monica flash smiles for the camera as they join their classmates in the traditional “graduation walk” through the crowd at Williams Gym. These two Hawks are bound for the University of Washington in the fall.

My talented teen-aged niece borrowed my camera Sunday for a few shots, one of which was this beauty of a hummingbird perched outside the dining room window. Next year she will take a commercial photography class at AHS. Kid’s got skills…
Historic ties
Gaze under the “Historic Downtown Anacortes” arch these days and you will see the image of city namesake Anna Curtis on the side of the historic Wilson Hotel. Look soon for a new Bill Mitchell mural on the Commercial Avenue face of the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center.
