Railroad owners: Tommy & Anne

Anacortes Railway Co. owners Anne and Tommy Thompson. Tommy hand-built this locomotive and passenger cars, operating several years on a narrow gauge track between 4th Street and the Calico Cupboard Restaurant on Commercial Avenue. Tommy died in 1999, and Anne donated the train to the City of Anacortes.

Tommy Thompson Parkway

Shortly after noon Saturday, Anne Thompson cut the ribbon in a ceremony dedicating the 3.8-mile Tommy Thompson Parkway stretching from downtown Anacortes to Fidalgo Bay.
