From beach to wetlands
In addition to the exercise and fresh air, my morning walk yielded this photo of a great blue heron moving from beach to adjacent wetland. Shot through natural barrier along shoreline trail, Bowman Bay.

Fishing a new spot
Every fisherman moves to a new spot when the action is slow. This blue heron works the rocks on low tide at Rosario Beach, “flying” a few feet from time to time across the water. Fishing was good that morning!

There’s a reason they are named Great Blue Heron. I photographed this beauty Wednesday at a downtown Anacortes wetland area when he/she decided to join another heron situated in a different corner of the pond.
