‘Fidalgo Holds Our Hearts’

Tomorrow, December 21, is the first day of winter. I celebrated “Winter’s Eve” with a rain-free walk at the Ship Harbor Interpretive Preserve (SHIP). I enjoyed sightings of an eagle, herons, wigeons, wrens and ducks. Twin cones

These fascinating cones, two among dozens on a beautiful 4th Street tree, continue to grow and change as summer wears toward fall. The cones are at least five inches tall, some larger.
