Powell creates high profile art

Among my favorite pieces of public art in this area are “The Maiden of Deception Pass” at Rosario Beach and “Cormorant” at Ship Harbor Interpretive Preserve (SHIP) adjacent to the state ferry terminal. Both pieces were created by local artist Tracy Powell. To read more about Powell, click here.

Morning in the sun

The waterfront was the place to be this morning as the sun has broken out and the temperature continues to climb. These cormorants and seagulls shared space on a decrepit dock just west of Curtis Wharf on the Guemes Channel.
