Veteran pilot
Among those in the crowd Thursday when B-17 and B-25 crews arrived at Bayview Airport was Anacortes resident Dave Cawley (seated). This World War II veteran flew with the U.S. Navy, piloting PBYs out of California. PBYs also flew out of NAS Whidbey in Oak Harbor.
Music with latitude
Singer Dave Calhoun and drummer entertained Friday night from the deck of a boat as fellow “Latitudes and Attitudes” friends danced, visited and walked the docks at Cap Sante Boat Haven.
Donors honored
A reception hosted Thursday by the Island Hospital Foundation presented opportunity to thank donors to the non-profit organization. Among dozens of donors gathered at the Depot Arts Center was Ike Schlicting (center), who recently donated $400,000 to the Foundation.
