With a baby in the family the song “Wheels on the bus” comes into my head often. On this morning I watched as a school bus headed across Deception Pass Bridge toward Skagit County. Gives the expression “field trip” a whole new meaning.

Both bridges are included in this Sunday afternoon view above North Beach at Deception Pass. The bridges have linked Fidalgo and Whidbey islands since 1935.
At this time of year marine layer “fog” is a regular occurrence at Deception Pass. It was August 2005 when I pulled over on the Fidalgo Island side of the bridge for this image.
