Anacortes native Bill Mitchell has literally left his mark on this community with dozens of murals, most mounted on exterior walls of downtown buildings. This mural, which greets visitors to the Post Office, was created from a 1944 photo of little Dennis Mapes on Independence Day. I don’t know who handles flag maintenance.
