Drawing the eye on any trip through downtown Anacortes are sidewalk flower boxes filled with bright yellow daffodils. The Skagit Valley boasts acres of these pre-tulip beauties.

Seasonal window displays like this one leave little doubt about the fact that we are well on our way to Thanksgiving. The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce presents the Annual Trick-or-Treat downtown from 1 – 4 p.m. on October 30. It’s summer now, and families have started to embark on Northwest adventures. Monday morning found these two families in downtown Anacortes, quiet but inviting. Daylight option
Hundreds of children took advantage of a daylight Halloween option offered by Anacortes businesses. Parents and children worked Commercial Avenue Friday afternoon, filling their bags with treats from local shops, offices and restaurants.
