It was impossible to get close, but I enjoyed watching this eagle for a few minutes on a perch opposite Canoe Pass Bridge this morning.
This “pre-bald,” or immature eagle, posed patiently for me last winter. I look forward to photography on the cold, clear days that lie ahead.

It’s difficult to take a journey among the islands without an eagle sighting. This bald eagle roosts in a snag not too far from the fog-shrouded hills of Cypress Island.
This eagle perched on the rocks near the Hole in the Wall, a water passage between Fidalgo Island and the mainland. Not too far from this spot, we saw a pair of raccoons on the beach.
