State beefs up ferry schedule
Washington State Ferries (WSF) announces that the Anacortes/San Juan Islands ferry route will return to a four-boat weekday and three-boat weekend regular winter schedule starting Sunday, April 26. The route has been on reduced service since April 10 with the Samish out of service for rudder repairs.
Friday Harbor
The view from the hill just above the ferry landing at Friday Harbor. Fall is a great time to take advantage of the ferry system to cruise the San Juans. You can do that as a walk-on (two of you!) in the $23 range; plus $10 for parking.
Incoming ferries
Visible at the top of this image are two state ferries coming into Anacortes from the San Juans. This telephoto image from Cap Sante also includes US Bank, Anacortes Community Theater and the City Library.
Marine traffic
