Friday afternoon was beautiful, a fact not lost on these fishermen at Cranberry Lake in Deception Pass State Park.
Beautiful weather and the lure of salmon drew hundreds of fishermen to the Skagit River in recent days. This photograph was taken from Riverside Park in Mount Vernon. The pink salmon run is bringing an estimated six million salmon into the Puget Sound rivers, with about 1.2 million of those headed up the Skagit. Beaches […]
The often bustling Heart Lake shoreline was quiet Monday, affording this fisherman the opportunity to spend a relaxing afternoon with few “neighbors” to distract him.
It’s Saturday, it’s sunny and school’s out. A great time to grab a fishing pole and head for the beach. In this case, the rocks off Fidalgo Bay at the base of Cap Sante.
Three-year-old Rory Fischbach was one of dozens of delighted children who landed trout during the opening hours of the 2010 Kids Fishing Derby at Heart Lake. Sunday, Day II of the new freshwater fishing season, was a busy one, as evidenced by this scene at Heart Lake in Anacortes. Lake Erie was busy, too, as was Pass Lake. Pass is a fly-fishing lake, no boat motors.
Google “the good life” and you’ll likely find a photo like this one, taken last weekend off Cypress Island during the Anacortes Salmon Derby.
This might look like a photo from the past, but it actually a photo I shot just a few days ago at the “T” Dock at Cap Sante Boat Haven. The monochrome treatment, plus the familiar features of the commercial fishing boat, gives the “good ol’ days” impression.
