Traffic jam

If you fill them (bird feeders, that is), they WILL come. We’re currently suffering from periodic traffic jams as goldfinches and miscellaneous other flying piggies descend on our backyard garden feeders. We actually love playing host to these beautiful birds, which contribute splashes of color as seasonal weather brings forth blossoms around the yard.

Fine dining

This photograph is a work in progress, as I am currently scheming to find a closer vantage point from which to capture images of our hungry little golfinch guests. The high count today was 10 goldfinches, with nesting sparrows and slurping hummingbirds also in the mix. More to come…
