Still a few months to go until launch, but the vessel Grant Candies just keeps looking better every day. One of the latest developments in this Dakota Creek Industries project is a shiny coat of paint.
Saturday morning was a workday for at least part of the construction crew at Dakota Creek Industries on the Anacortes waterfront. Crane operators worked their magic as a section of decking was lifted into place on the Grant Candies, a vessel that will reportedly be used in deepwater oil exploration activities.
I was excited by this afternoon’s sunshine, so headed out with my camera for the Dakota Creek Industries (DCI) shipyard, where progress on the vessel “Grant Candies” continues. I can spot this boat from my living room window, but hadn’t been close for a couple of weeks. Ship construction is a fascinating art.
