Osprey ‘fishes’ shoreline
I had the good fortune this afternoon of watching an osprey “fish” local waters at the Guemes Trail. The tide was out so the action was quite a distance, but I had the opportunity to watch three dives … two yielding fish. It’s always a delight to watch this amazing bird.

Emerald beauty by the sea
Our wonderful walk on a sunny Guemes Trail today was made even more special by the appearance of this little beauty, who buzzed us and then perched on a branch between us and the beach below. Guess that qualifies this hummer as a Fidalgo Island shorebird.
