Same outing, different birds. Hawk on the north side of Highway 20, snow geese on the south side in a field just beyond the Swinomish Channel. Winged beauties brightening up an already bright March day.
No bald eagles this morning, but lots of other feathered friends on Tommy Thompson Trail and March’s Point. I was particularly pleased to see the tern and couple of hawks. A great way to start the day on beautiful Fidalgo Island!

One place led to the other, and before my Wednesday outing was over I had visited Rosario Head, Bowman Bay and the West Beach Cranberry Lake area of Deception Pass State Park. Had to take some photos of wildlife friends along the way. Hawk and geese surprised me with their patience.

On Monday, just a few hours before the governor of Washington issued his sweeping “Stay Home” decree, I climbed behind the wheel of the car for a relaxing spin around Anacortes. All of these photos were taken from the car at locations ranging from March’s Point to Heart Lake.
I saw three eagles and two hawks, including this one, on my Saturday morning drive around Fidalgo. This hawk perched on a light pole at the SKAT Park ‘n’ Ride on March’s Point.
