A hike on a neighborhood trail today yielded new images for my forest “gallery.” Mushrooms, wildflowers, ferns. I heard a couple of woodpeckers, but did not see them. An owl, too. Again, unseen. Spring sun, rising temperatures are bringing beautiful changes each day.
Green is definitely the dominant color in any Northwest forest, but a closer look often reveals a splash of a different color. This dragonfly is part of a large population in a wetlands area of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (AFCL).
