Holiday horses

Nine-year-old Otter Moon was among many downtown Anacortes shoppers who took advantage of the opportunity to take a free horse drawn trolley ride this weekend. Pictured with handler Christine Finch are “stars” of the show: horses Slim and Bill, owned by Glen and Lola Lang.

Sleeping in

Apparently unimpressed by the fact that the sun had been up for three hours, this Fidalgo Island filly remained in rest mode even as I approached with my camera. Home pasture for this horse in near the intersection of Spradley and Whistle Lake roads.

Peaceful pasture
