Haying the Southside
Once again this year, Loren Smith’s 1937 John Deere tractor is at work in a nearby hayfield. Back in the day, the area south of 22nd Street in Anacortes was known as the Southside. Many homes boasted gardens, chickens and cows.

Tursi Park
Just a day or two ago the sun washed shelter and lawn at John and Doris Tursi Park, nestled between the Anacortes Airport and the Rock Ridge housing development. Forecasts show rain for the next few days.
