Get set, go!

Here are a few front line starters in the June 13 Tesoro March Point Run 5K/10K race. Clay Wing, second from right in white, finished as overall male runner. There were 300-plus runners of all ages, with a free, half-mile kids run to start the day off.

Don’t look now

Don’t look now, but March has unleashed yet another snowstorm. I lied to myself this morning, suggesting the temperature would rise and the white stuff would be gone by noon. Hardly. Pull out the mittens and earmuffs.

March wind

Winds were strong Tuesday afternoon, pushing waves into the shoreline on Fidalgo Island beachfronts including this one at Skyline on the city’s west end.

Rhody’s ready

Whoa! Where did March go? This bud, the first of two blossoms on a rhododendron bush in the garden, tells the story of what’s to come … lots of glorious color … and “opportunities” to spend some quality time with garden tools.
