Fire training

Training for summer staff at Cap Sante Boat Haven includes small fire extinguisher instruction. Staffers completed a brief outdoor “class” Saturday morning.

New wall

Shoreline riprap at Cap Sante Boat Haven has been replaced by this retaining wall as part of a cleanup project on Port of Anacortes property between the Harbormaster’s Office and the boat launch.

Hole filled at marina

A once gaping hole near the shoreline at Cap Sante Boat Haven has now been filled, so attention shifts to the removal of upland buildings just south of the Harbormaster’s office. Contaminated soil has been removed, and demolition of antiquated buildings will present the opportunity for new waterfront businesses.

Unobstructed view

This view from above the Highway 20 spur helps to illustrate the importance of the boating industry in Anacortes. Visible in the center is Anacortes Marina, and beyond that, Cap Sante Boat Haven. The other major marina is at Skyline, where some boat slips lie in homeowners’ back yards.

This is a scale model of the bronze sculpture that will make its home at the main dock entrance to Cap Sante Boat Haven, the popular marina owned by the Port of Anacortes. Sculptor Gerard K. This woman and her companion rolled through Cap Sante Boat Haven this afternoon, gliding by trees that indicate seasonal change. What a gorgeous time of year to enjoy the many public facilities in this island community.
