Progress is clearly visible on the marine skills center under construction on “R” Avenue in Anacortes. The center, scheduled to open in September, will provide technical training for up to 120 high school, college, and adult students pursuing careers in the marine trades. Other public benefits will include increased parking and a conference facility.
