Few Anacortesans had the opportunity to watch this impressive construction project as it took place off-island. A new Anacortes water treatment facility was built adjacent to the old plant at a Mount Vernon site on the Skagit River. These photos were taken in December 2011.
This beautiful stained glass piece greets visitors to the Skagit Station in downtown Mount Vernon. The art is situated above the street entrance to the depot, which is next door to the landmark “Grainery” building.
