People on or around Fidalgo Bay Wednesday afternoon might have seen this unique vessel spraying with a water cannon. The custom built boat is part of Marathon Refinery’s emergency response fleet, with boats docked both at the refinery and the March’s Point wharf.
Shell Puget Sound Refinery partnered Tuesday, August 17 to conduct a spill reponse exercise on the shore of Fidalgo Bay. Also participating in the morning drill were representatives of Skagit County and response contractor MSRC. The drill, which involved more than two dozen refinery employees, was observed by representatives of the state Department of Ecology.
