Finds on a forest floor
A hike on a neighborhood trail today yielded new images for my forest “gallery.” Mushrooms, wildflowers, ferns. I heard a couple of woodpeckers, but did not see them. An owl, too. Again, unseen. Spring sun, rising temperatures are bringing beautiful changes each day.

In the shadows
I couldn’t get the photo I wanted through the trees, so I looked down. I discovered this mushroom about three feet from a Madrona tree on Fidalgo Bay Road. Dark, damp days. It must be fall.
