This post is dedicated to the three couples, two singles, mother and child that I encountered Wednesday afternoon on a damp but delightful romp through Sharpe Park on Fidalgo’s western shore. Hearty souls, all! The sun broke out after morning rain, illuminating forest floor and paths and “spotlighting” flora including a variety of mushrooms. Some […]
Given seasonal changes in weather and flora, my attention was drawn to the earth on a recent trip to the West Beach area of Deception Pass State Park. Pictured here are many of the mushrooms I discovered on a walk through lakeside forest and shoreside sand dunes. Impressive (especially those I discovered growing in the […]
I love blue skies, but I learned long ago that in order to really enjoy the wonders of the Pacific Northwest, you must be willing to venture out on gray days too. Several “alien” colonies of mushrooms found conditions favorable in deck planters intended for geraniums only. There goes the neighborhood.
I took this photo from a prone position during a recent walk in the forest. Delicate little things…mushrooms, pale from lack of sunshine.
My last visit to How It Works, my favorite graphics company in Anacortes, presented an opportunity to photograph several large mushrooms growing on the lawn adjacent to the front entry.
