Anacortes Arts Festival is back!

After a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, the regionally renowned Anacortes Arts Festival is back! Art, food, music and a colorful crowd brought downtown Anacortes to life for the three-day event, Friday through Sunday, August 8. Visit anacortesartsfestival.com for details.

Powers draws a crowd

Michael Powers drew a crowd of several hundred to a free concert Friday at Seafarers’ Memorial Park, hosted by the Port of Anacortes. The solo entertainer attracted not only applause, but dancers from an enthusiastic audience.

Among the many features of the Anacortes Arts Festival is a selection of talented musicians playing at several stages, as well as on street corners. A crowd favorite is the Central American group called “Quichua Mashis,” playing music of the Andes. (See Activities for more entertainment photos)
