Among the many reasons Cap Sante Marina ranks among top Northwest marinas is the fact that it is populated by so many beautiful boats. This is a scene from the North Basin on Monday evening.
This young buck was in the company of a larger buck, both enjoying “fruit” from a few trees at the North Basin of Cap Sante Marina.
It might not classify as a physically challenging adventure, but the North Basin neighborhood at Cap Sante Marina is a wonderful place for a relaxing walk at water’s edge. My Monday visit included sightings of a loon, a chipmunk, two bucks and many tiny forest birds. Don’t forget natural flora … and there is often […]
Always beautiful, particularly so on a summer morning like today: the North Basin at Cap Sante Marina. The popular Rotary Park paved path runs along the base of Cap Sante to a gazebo near the marina breakwater. There is also a nice stretch of public beach.
Uncharacteristically warm days have prompted folks like these to take a stroll in the North Basin of Cap Sante Boat Haven near downtown Anacortes. This esplanade leads to Rotary Park and a wonderful harborside path to the base of Cap Sante.
Numerous activities converge on a regular basis here at the North Basin area of Cap Sante Boat Haven. In addition to boaters, the park-like area draws walkers and picnickers. The Rotary Park trail to the base of Cap Sante is a favorite destination among many outdoor enthusiasts.

It’s one of the prettiest spots around for a morning walk. I recommend the pedestrian-only path along the waterfront to Rotary Park at the […]
Who would think, given today’s sunshine and blue skies, that there had been talk of snow earlier in the week? This gentleman was one of several Anacortesans enjoying a stroll along the esplanade at the Port of Anacortes’ Cap Sante Marina Wednesday shortly after noon. If you want to make yourself feel particularly wise about […]
I’m in love with this stretch of public sidewalk between Cap Sante Boat Basin and Rotary Park at the base of Cap Sante. It was a little damp today at noon, but still the picnic tables overlooking the marina were inviting.

This esplanade, or walkway, leads to Rotary Park at the base of Cap Sante, inaccessible to vehicles. Eventually the esplanade will become part of the Tommy Thompson Trail, which will follow the city’s coastline and cross Fidalgo Bay to […]
