This photo from 2018 was taken about this time of year, when wildflower Paintbrush is flashing its distinctive red blossoms. I’ve seen a few “families” on the way to Whidbey in recent days.
A few photos of beautiful wildflowers growing along a south Fidalgo bluff trail.
Probably my favorite wildflower is the “Indian Paintbrush,” a Northwest beauty that loves rocky terrain and lots of sun. This plant is among many just a short distance from Deception Pass Bridge.
I discovered this photograph of a “paintbrush” wildflower this morning while sifting through photos of the Deception Pass area. I admit I am eager to bask again in spring sunshine on the grassy bluffs of Fidalgo Island…
Wildflowers bask in the weekend sunlight on Pass Island, the body of land between two steel spans routinely referred to as “Deception Pass Bridge.” Fidalgo and Whidbey islands are actually linked by two spans: Deception and Canoe bridges.
