This was the scene early Sunday afternoon on Highway 20, just outside the state park boundary with Pass Lake on the left.
The view is all shades of green as you face the trailhead at Pass Lake on south Fidalgo Island. This beautiful lake, part of Deception Pass State Park, attracts fly fishermen from all around the region.
I didn’t stay long enough to see whether this Pass Lake fly fisherman’s recreational/intellectual strategy yielded results, but I was impressed by his waterborne recliner approach to a proud Northwest pastime. See more photos in Activities section under Passing Time on Pass Lake.
