The Healer: 2012

Among outdoor public art items in Anacortes over the years was this sculpture by Leon White titled “The Healer.” March 2012 near the intersection of 12th Street and Commercial Avenue.

Nighttime runners: 2017

“Runners” sculpture photographed at night in October 2017. This piece by Seattle artist Ken Turner features two eight-foot figures running south on “Q” Avenue, which links to the popular Tommy Thompson Trail. It is located near the Northwest Center of Excellence for Marine Manufacturing and Technology.

Tsutakawa delivers sculpture: April 2008

It was April 2008 when renowned Northwest sculptor Gerard Tsutakawa and team delivered the sculpture “Annie Curtis” to its home at Cap Sante Marina. A beautiful day for placement and unveiling, with many arts community and Port of Anacortes dignitaries on hand.

New sculpture at Kiwanis Park

Recently installed at Kiwanis Waterfront Park in Anacortes is “Continental Drift,” a spherical piece created by Steve Lloyd. This artwork, composed entirely of driftwood collected in this region, joins Leo Osborne’s “Windsong,” located just down the beach at the edge of the Guemes Channel. The art pieces are visible from Skagit County’s Guemes ferry terminal.

Many visitors to the 2003 Anacortes Arts Festival took advantage of an opportunity to express themselves in paint, contributing their talents to the creation of a colorful mural. The 2021 Arts Festival opens today!
