Colorful corner

This is the corner at Commercial Avenue and Railroad Avenue, just south of the main offices of the Port of Anacortes. In addition to a mural created by Bill Mitchell, the corner now features colorful rainspouts installed on the building occupied by a rope factory.

Abandoned line

Evidence that this track has been abandoned is clear. The track, located about 100 yards from the historic Anacortes Depot, harkens back to the days when trains moved back and forth from the mainland to the city waterfront. March Point and the refineries are the end of the line for Fidalgo Island tracks these days. […]
