On a beautiful May day in 2012 I drove to Cap Sante to take photographs of a sailboat race below on Fidalgo Bay. Among competitors were the “Emoyeni” of Whidbey Island and “Pangaea” of Anacortes.
Saturday morning was beautiful, even if the sun didn’t fully cooperate. A number of sailboat owners took the opportunity to enjoy some time on the water. This photograph was taken from Cap Sante, near the “intersection” of Fidalgo Bay and the Guemes Channel.
It was exciting Sunday morning to discover this boat coming into Anacortes under sail. More often than not, sailboats motor in and out of Cap Sante Marina. Makes one wish one was a boat owner…
