Morning spin

I watched two OARS boats leave Cap Sante Boat Haven this morning. By the time I got to the bay end of 5th Street I discovered the “Erica” and crew soaking up the beauty of the day before heading back for the marina. Thanks for the cooperation!

Busy walkway

Pedestrian traffic grows heavier each summer day at Cap Sante Boat Haven and on the Tommy Thompson Trail. While dog and master make their way toward Seafarers’ Memorial Park, another couple stops for a photo op near an interpretive sign.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered this beautiful bug climbing wildgrass at Cap Sante. And she wasn’t the only ladybug I found, either. Perhaps I stumbled onto a rare of breed of mountain bugs?

Trawler Fest opens

A trawler (center) arrives at Cap Sante Boat Haven for day one of the PassageMaker Trawler Fest, a five-day event drawing hundreds to this community. Weekday activities include classroom instruction opportunities. Note temporary “big top” tent facility.
