Among birds making their seasonal return to this area are the snow geese, pictured here on Fir Island. Trumpeter swans also delight birdwatchers.
Same outing, different birds. Hawk on the north side of Highway 20, snow geese on the south side in a field just beyond the Swinomish Channel. Winged beauties brightening up an already bright March day.
It was mid-March 2015 when blue skies and the promise of seasonal images drew me over the bridge from Fidalgo Island to the Skagit Valley. I was not disappointed. One of these shots features not only tulips, but a huge flock of snow geese in the background. Gotta love Spring!
