Shell refinery once Texaco
The refinery now operating under the Shell Oil umbrella began operations as a Texaco refinery in 1958. It later transitioned to Shell ownership. The refinery next door, which began operations in 1955, transitioned from Shell to Tesoro to Marathon (current owner).
The first Anacortes refinery

This refinery, built by Shell Oil Company starting in 1953, marks 65 years of operation this summer. The refinery next door, operational since 1958, was originally built and operated by Texaco but is now owned by Shell.
