The state ferry “Yakima” is currently in drydock at Dakota Creek Industries (DCI) in Anacortes for scheduled maintenance. According to Washington State Ferries (WSF) it is estimated to return to service on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route in mid-October.

State ferry Yakima arrives in Anacortes in light rain Saturday morning. Activity at the terminal reflected a return to the summer schedule. Not sure about ridership figures, but I assume they are lighter due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Interesting activity at the Anacortes Port dock this afternoon drew several dozen onlookers as Crowley tug crews turned the state ferry Yakima around and moved it into drydock for repairs. Dakota Creek crews will work on a damaged propeller. More photos in Activities section.
