This LaConner family opened the new year with a hike at Washington Park, arguably the most popular recreation spot on Fidalgo Island. Mom and Dad checked their park trail map upon reaching the summit overlooking Burrows Bay.
This historic mural, one of dozens created by local artist Bill Mitchell, features a 1910 Model T driven by JA Mitchell. The mural was created from a 1914 photograph taken on a family outing near Mitchell’s log boom. Look for this mural on the north wall of Red Salon, 6th Street and Commercial Avenue.
