In full swing today is the Anacortes Boat & Yacht Show, featuring Traweler Fest. The action is at Cap Sante Marina, currently populated with millions of dollars worth of boats of all shapes and sizes. The show continues through 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, bringing a wave of support for local businesses.
My walks/hikes always find me scanning for birds, high and low. This representation of three outings includes an osprey, bald eagle, house finch, red wing blackbird and sandpiper.
This osprey, nicknamed the “seahawk,” flew over an Anacortes Seahawks baseball game last week on its ways home with dinner.
A 10-inning thriller against top seed Lynden ended in victory for the Anacortes High School Seahawks baseball team. The Hawks scored a go-ahead run in the top of the 10th and then put the game on ice. Final score: 5-4.

In August 2010 Anthony’s Restaurant was constructed on the shoreline at Cap Sante Marina. Since that time an adjacent dining spot called “The Cabana” has been added. Both restaurants offer outdoor seating areas.
