Experience Music Project
Any modern music fan’s gotta love the Experience Music Project (EMP) in downtown Seattle. But as you can see from these photographs of the amazing sculpture/edifice, you don’t even have to get inside to have a memorable experience. The first three photos I took are shots of the “skin” of the building, the fourth is of the monorail moving “through” the structure. The EMP, which opened in 2000, was designed by Frank Gehry with Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen providing the bucks. One of Gehry’s most recent projects is the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Also awesome, but subject to the destructive forces of LA smog.
