Wedding Day

Wow. God blessed us Saturday with a wonderful wedding and reception that culminated with the honeymoon departure of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Tyhuis. As father of the bride I was a bit preoccupied, but I did manage to snap a few photos. The first shot features Kirsten sharing a laugh with bridesmaids Sarah, Melissa, Christina and Amber. A few minutes later, Uncle Brian shares a special moment with his niece Madison while the photographer focuses on the bride and her friends. The third photo will be remembered forever as “The Dip and Kiss.” Maid of Honor Melissa hit bride and groom with a shot of breath spray just before The Kiss. The last shot features happy husband and wife, vows made and rings in place. Two very special young people … and a day of memories we will cherish always.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
