Rock the dock

It was “Rock the Dock” time Friday night at the Port of Anacortes warehouse on the Guemes Channel. This annual Waterfront Festival gala is sponsored by the Economic Development Association of Skagit County (EDASC), so it draws folks from all corners of the county. The weather was wonderful, so most gathered on the pier outside until time for a buffet dinner catered by Gere-a-Deli. As usual, the warehouse was decorated in bright colors with a maritime theme. The event drew a number of elected officials, including Port of Anacortes Board of Commissioners President Bill Short, who presented plaques to three Port “partners.” Included among those honored was Jay Field of the Anacortes Salmon Derby, sponsored by the Fidalgo Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers. The more adventurous members of the audience danced to live music provided by the Crossroads blues band of Seattle.
