It was an exciting day Saturday, September 9, when Naval Air Station Whidbey Island opened its doors to the public. Activities ranged from aircraft displays and flight demonstrations to live music, food and information booths. Special features for young guests ranged from climbing tower to face painting. There were also opportunities to sit in the cockpit of a maritime patrol jet (P8 Poseidon). Thank you, U.S. Navy, for hosting this great community event.
