Downtown Anacortes has its beautiful esplanade through the public marina. Ship Harbor Interpretive Preserve near the state ferry terminal boasts this curving boardwalk, allowing walkers to enjoy the wetlands without getting wet!

Fish factory ship Alaska Spirit undergoes work at Dakota Creek Industries (DCI) on the Anacortes waterfront. The vessel was originally built for tuna as a long line vessel, converted to a factory trawler in the 1990s.

Winter weather makes a mark

A powerful combination of winter forces: snow, ice, wind and rain has left its mark on the area, as evidenced on popular area paths including the Tommy Thompson Trail and the Guemes Channel Trail. Damage has also been done inland on forest trails and back roads.
