Osprey days

Ospreys, otherwise known as “seahawks,” are making themselves known all over the city these days. My sightings within the past week have been at Ship Harbor, Cap Sante Marina and AHS Memorial Plaza overlooking the stadium. An amazing, beatiful bird with a distinctive call.

Marina activity level grows

Seasonal welcome banners are up at Cap Sante Marina, where the year-round level of activity grows to a peak. Saturday brought hundreds to the marina and Seafarers’ Memorial Park next door for the annual “Small Boat Messabout.”

I used to pass this Lake Campbell barn often on my way to and from Anacortes. Family friend Irene lived just across the road. Sadly, the barn has since collapsed into itself.
