Time and weather continue to take their toll on this Lake Campbell barn. It looks like this farm building, situated near the base of Mt. Erie, will suffer the same fate that a neighboring barn at the other end of the road did about 20 years ago.
This one’s from the archives. I used to pass this barn near Lake Campbell regularly on my way to do business in Anacortes. It’s gone now, and another of my Lake Campbell favorites is looking more fragile every day.
Time has taken its toll on this South Fidalgo barn, which apparently has failed to find a place on its owner’s “to do” list.
A layer of frost on the roof of this Fidalgo Island barn survived into the afternoon on Sunday. Warmer temperatures and rain over the past couple of days have eliminated the sparkle from evening and morning hours.
Those who travel Highway 20 between Sharpe’s Corner and Deception Pass are familiar with this barn, situated below the road en route to Campbell Lake.
