Work on the water

The Guemes Channel is a highway for many whose work is on the water, including this tug crew heading west from Seattle with barge in tow. In the foreground are birds gathered on a decrepit dock adjacent to Curtis Wharf.

Through the pass

I was treated Monday afternoon on my way to Oak Harbor to this scene at Deception Pass: a team of tugs pulling logs under the bridge. This activity, coupled with the fact that the weather was so beautiful, drew a crowd to the railings of the bridge.
