Added client space

Evidence of recent expansion of Salvation Army facilities in Anacortes is this signage on the “R” Avenue building. The Anacortes Corps recently purchased adjacent space, providing opportunity to offer social services including the Food Bank from the west side (front) of the building. Anacortes Corps officers are Majors Jerold and Carol Forney.

Salvation Army donations are a family affair at the Bridge Christian Fellowship. A donation barrel stands year-round at the church. This load of food was bound for the “R” Avenue Salvation Army Food Bank this week as the Anacortes Corps gears up for Christmas.

Dozens of winter sports athletes from Anacortes High School committed a few hours of their day Saturday to a seasonal food drive. These young ladies are members of the AHS girls basketball team. Thanks to volunteers

These are a few of the volunteers who were honored Friday, January 30 by the Salvation Army Anacortes Corps for their contributions to the Christmas 2008 season. Almost 4,000 toys were distributed to area children. Since June of 2008, almost 153,000 pounds of food have been donated and distributed through the Salvation Army Food Bank. […]
