Samish welcome guests: 2005

It was July 2005 when Northwest tribes took part in a traditional Canoe Journey that on this occasion led to the shores of Fidalgo Island. The Samish Indian Nation hosted this summer event, welcoming guests to their Weaverling Spit gathering place.

This report from WSDOT at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 13 All state #Anacortes/#SanJuanIslands vessels are now operating, following some weather-related cancellations and delays to start the day. #Yakima remains about 1 hour behind schedule. Some areas of Anacortes remain without power as of 9:50 a.m.

Pilings planted at “T” Dock

The southwest corner of Cap Sante Marina is bustling with activity as Port contractor American Construction takes delivery and begins to install pilings and sections of new floating docks. Projections call for completion of the new “T” Dock by late spring.

New look for New Wilson: 2006

These images were taken in the fall of 2006, when the historic New Wilson Hotel was being converted to apartments under the umbrella of the Anacortes Housing Authority. A new look, inside and out, including replacement of windows and exterior artwork on south wall (painting of city namesake Annie Curtis).
