Hundreds lined the streets of Historic Downtown Anacortes for the annual Christmas Parade Saturday, December 4. Opening parade photos featured the state ferry Hyak as a backdrop. Independence

Reminiscent of days gone by, when “town criers” announced the news of the day, official Anacortes Town Crier Richard Riddell will join other dignitaries in celebration of America’s Independence Day on Sunday, July 4. Events include an 11 a.m. downtown parade, followed by festivities at historic Causland Park on 8th Street.
